Welcome

This AHRC Fellowship (2018-2020), led by Lise Jaillant explored the UK poetry scene since the 1960s, focusing particularly on poetry publishers and their born-digital archives. To write the cultural history of the recent past, we need access to email archives and other born-digital collections. We also need new research methods to analyse vast amounts of digital records. This was the focus of the “Archives, Access and AI” international conference, organised at Loughborough’s London campus in January 2020.

As part of the project, we interviewed many poets, editors and other people associated with the poetry scene in Britain. This formed a key outcome of the project. Recordings and transcripts can be found on the interview page.
