Mike Freeman

Mike Freeman, born in Tees-side, read English at Sheffield, where William Empson was his final year tutor, under whom he gained his First. He worked in schools, then in teacher training and the W.E.A., teaching contemporary poetry and experimental fiction. He joined Carcanet in 1983, working on PN Review and the fiction list. Leaving after ten years he became a freelance editor. He writes some poetry and is the poetry reviewer for The Mekong Review.
